Quinns...................or is it Weston's?

It's Thursday night, close to midnight and suddenly I find myself back at home in wexford! What has happened? I have just walked into Quinn's home of all country folk between the ages of 18 and 23. Dancing at the cross roads is blaring (not for the last time, and probably not the first time either) and I find myself as the only one in the whole pub who doesn't know the words! Half the school is there, the other half are down in the big tree. Tis right aul craic altogether!!

Doctors discover new adhesive

Doctors working late into the night on Thursday discovered a new entirely safe organic adhesive which they are calling Tiramisu. Doctors hope the new adhesive will bring us into a new era of filling holes opening up in the gastrointestinal system. The doctors took the brave step of testing the substance on themselves showing their confidence in their discovery and returned results of 100% effectiveness with 95% satisfaction with the flavouring which may makes the adhesive suitable for use in paediatrics. The adhesive is contraindicated for diabetics and those with an allergy to nuts.

Med Ball

Well the highlight of this week, and the past few was Med ball which took place on Thursday in the Pavillion (the pav to all the D4s among us). It was a blacktie affair with a splash of red obligatory. Despite several ideas involving surgery and the anatomy rooms I opted for a red bowtie and cumberband in the end. Cumberbands just don't fit properly without any cumber to hold them in place. After tucking away two dinners in a way Keith would be proud of and dancing like a sobre mess for several hours to a Beatles tribute band and a very retro DJ (your almost an old man when you graduate from med school) we retired to leggs on Leeson street where many were disappointed to find out it wasn't actually a strip joint as had been rumoured!

Hallowe'en week involved two fancy dress parties. The bone® ball and the Pat's monster ball. Does it count as dressing up when I dress as a mad scientist, or even a doctor?!! Gone are the days of lighting candles in the pub for on the failure of the electricity in the Big tree we were all ejected from the premises. I was amazed to find I still had my clothes on when entering back into the light! I guess the Northside's not as bad as they say it is........................!

So Saturday was the i audition. Went pretty well. Even more important however was the fact that Colm said I sounded good. That's a first!

Grrrrrr still haven't seen any dead bodies!

And so to begin

The last month of my life has been jam packed with excitement. Started pre-med in UCD late but have settled in like a protein to its enzyme (had to put something nerdy in). Highlights have included UCD med day, the wine and cheese night in bojangles and various other class parties etc. The 1 drawback is the tests. I can't believe it! This years pre-med actually involves work. I'll be keeping you all up to date with the happenings in my life with the aid of camera photography (I don't have a real camera), and some photos stolen from various other sources.
